About Us
McConnell Design Studio is made up of husband-and-wife team John and Meg McConnell in Charleston, SC. John is a seasoned web developer and Meg is a creative professional who specializes in graphic and web design.
Meg Trott-McConnell
As a graphic designer, Meg has over nine years of professional experience creating communication materials for national and international corporate, nonprofit, and small business clients, as well as three years serving as the editor-in-chief of the College of Charleston yearbook.
She has worked as a full-time designer in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, and currently works as a consultant with Knowledge Capital Group. Meg completed her Master's degree in Communication at the College of Charleston in 2009 and was selected as a winner in the 2008 American Inhouse Design Awards by Graphic Design USA Magazine and The Creative Group.
Meg's most recent work includes small business identity packages, company brochures, event collateral, and web site designs. When she's not busy working with clients, she loves making jewelry and running the Lowcountry Elite All-Star Cheerleading program on James Island.
John McConnell
John has over nine years of professional web development experience, starting at the College of Charleston, where he and Meg were cube mates. He went on to code online insurance applications, and later moved to his current position at SPAWAR where he is a computer scientist who designs, develops, and maintains a project management web application for the Marine Corps.
John has also built numerous web sites and DNN modules, and develops custom features for a variety of clients. He specializes in ASP.Net, Sql Server, WordPress, DotNetNuke, PHP, MySequel, CSS, jQuery, and Web Services. John earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Valdosta State in 2002 and completed his Master's degree in Computer Science through the College of Charleston in 2006.
When he's not immersed in coding, John loves exploring the great outdoors, playing with his band "Not the Dead," and hanging out with his dog, Meatball.
