About JI All-Stars
All-Star cheerleading is a rapidly growing sport that combines performance ability and athleticism. All-Star cheerleaders do not cheer for another sports team, but instead practice the skills needed to compete a high-energy routine against other All-Star cheer squads.
All-Star cheerleaders generally come from many different schools and some cheer for a school or recreational league also. No experience is required, but cheer, gymnastics, or dance experience are definitely helpful.
While skills and routines can be taught, commitment and dedication is essential. Starting August 1, 2009, there will be a strict attendance policy that limits cheerleaders to no more than 2 absences per semester, with additional penalties for tardiness and leaving early. Excessive absences will result in dismissal from the team (as would missing a competition). There will also be a Code of Conduct that all of the girls will sign next season so that we reinforce positive attitudes, good sportsmanship, and teamwork.
